Academy Founders and Leaders
Benny Holm (Founder, Deceased):
Benny Holm was a journalist, company executive, and assistant equipment designer with a rich and varied career. In 2003, together with his wife Anne, he founded the Fukushi Academy at Bellinge, Denmark. Benny was highly regarded for his expertise in social welfare, elderly care, and policy-related matters, sharing his knowledge extensively in both Denmark and Japan, where he made over 20 visits. His deep understanding of Denmark’s advanced welfare system, culture, business, and services made him a valued leader in the field. Sadly, Benny has since passed away, leaving a lasting legacy of compassion and commitment.
Anne Holm
Anne Holm, a retired occupational therapist and former center director, is a dedicated supporter of the reactivation of the Fukushi Academy. With over 40 visits to Japan, where she gave lectures and participated in various seminars, Anne has a deep understanding of the needs of Japanese professionals and continues to guide the academy with her extensive knowledge of both Danish and Japanese social welfare systems.
Kornelia Konieczna
Kornelia Konieczna, an Integrative Health Practitioner, is leading the next chapter of the Fukushi Academy at Bellinge House. With a background in holistic health and a Master's degree in Integrative Health and Traditional Chinese Medicine, Kornelia is committed to continuing the legacy of the academy. Her focus is on offering a balanced approach that integrates welfare with holistic well-being, making Bellinge Fukushi Academy a unique destination for learning and growth.

We have a long-standing relationship with Japanese institutions, offering tailored programs that meet the needs of professionals seeking to enhance their knowledge of Denmark’s welfare practices. We welcome the opportunity to collaborate with universities, hospitals, local authorities and organizations to create customized learning experiences for Japanese participants.

Program Overview:
This is a sample itinerary for an 8-day study tour for universities and professionals visiting Denmark from November to March. Please note that the dates, specific institutions, and visits may vary depending on the time of year and the availability of our partner institutions. We ensure a well-rounded experience tailored to your needs.
What We Provide:
•Transportation: Pick-up and drop-off at Copenhagen Airport, and transportation to all scheduled visits and excursions.
•Accommodation and Meals: Comfortable accommodation at Bellinge House with all meals included, tailored to dietary preferences.
•Language Support: We collaborate with an experienced interpreter, ensuring smooth communication throughout the program.
•Travel Assistance: We work closely with a travel agent to provide a complete package, including group flight bookings for 10-16 participants, making your planning easy and stress-free.

8-Day Study Tour Itinerary:
Days 1-2: Arrival and Introduction to Danish Welfare
Day 1: Arrival -07:00 a.m.: Arrival at Copenhagen Airport. Pickup and transfer to accommodation. -09:00 a.m.: Welcome and check-in at Bellinge House. -10:30 a.m.: Visit to a local community center to explore public welfare services. -12:30 p.m.: Lunch at a local café. -02:00 p.m.: Introduction to the Danish welfare model and its history by a local expert. -04:00 p.m.: Walking tour of social housing projects and urban welfare initiatives. -06:00 p.m.: Welcome dinner at a traditional Danish restaurant. Day 2: Early Childhood and Educational Welfare -08:30 a.m.: Breakfast at Bellinge House. -09:30 a.m.: Visit to a public kindergarten to observe childcare practices. -11:30 a.m.: Lecture on Denmark’s early childhood education system. -01:00 p.m.: Lunch with kindergarten staff. -02:30 p.m.: Visit to a public school focusing on inclusive education. -04:00 p.m.: Q&A session with teachers. -06:00 p.m.: Dinner at Bellinge House.
